Title: Complete prepotential for 5d N = 1 superconformal field theories

Abstract:
In general, five dimensional (5d) supersymmetric gauge theory can be understood as a deformation of the superconformal field theory (SCFT) realized at the ultraviolet fixed point. The deformation parameters are interpreted as the masses and the gauge coupling constants of the gauge theory. However, from the viewpoint of the SCFT, it is natural to extend the parameter region to the place where the original gauge theory description is not valid anymore. For example, we can consider the parameter region where the square of the gauge coupling constant becomes negative. If we choose such parameter region, the theory may flow to a different gauge theory or may flows to a non-Lagrangian theory at the infrared.
We propose the “complete” prepotential for 5d N=1 SCFT, which is valid for the whole parameter region. The complete prepotential is constructed in such a way that it respects the global symmetry of the SCFT and that it reduces to the perturbative prepotential found by Intriligator, Morrison and Seiberg in the parameter region where the gauge theory description is valid. The (p,q) 5-brane web diagram plays an important role to understand the complete prepotential.
